IRCC processing-time tools are based on application type and may use historical/forward-looking methods depending on the program. An estimate does not promise a decision by a particular date and individual files can take longer because of completeness, background checks, medical/security issues, document requests, complexity or program capacity.
Track the right stage
SubmittedKeep proof of filing and payment and confirm the application is transmitted successfully.
AOR / completenessSome application types issue an acknowledgement after intake/completeness review.
Biometrics / medicalComplete requests by the deadline and preserve evidence.
Additional documentsRespond fully and on time to document requests or procedural fairness letters.
Status updatesUse the correct IRCC account/tracker and webform when appropriate.
Final decisionApproval may still require passport, eCOPR, landing or permit issuance steps depending on the case.
