Caregivers' Interim Pathway: What to Expect
For qualifying in-home carers and their families, the Interim Pathway for Caregivers offers a limited-time path to permanent residence. You may be able to apply for permanent residency in Canada if you have worked as a home child care provider or a home support worker.
Check Your Eligibility
You must meet the eligibility requirements in order to apply.
Candidates must have a valid employment offer in Canada, fulfil the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5, and have completed at least one year of post-secondary study to be considered for the Home Child Care Provider or Home Support Worker pilots. Candidates who match the criteria will be granted a work visa to work as a caregiver in Canada. They would be able to apply for permanent residency in Canada after completing two years of work in either NOC 4411 or NOC 4412. Applicants who are already in Canada on a work visa and meet the requirements are also eligible to apply.
